Paint the New Year Red

Here is the next set of scarves.

Taking them left to right.

This one was just different red yarns, with fuzzies on the outside. One of them shaded into pink, which added some nice depth.

This one was similar, without fuzzies, and with more variation in the stitches. This had more yarn size changes for interest, rather than texture.

This one looks a bit better in real life, since the blue-grey yarn has bits of red, which doesn't come out here. It's a variation on what I've heard called the mermaid stitch: where you go from plain knitting, to wrapping once in each stitch (which elongates it), to wrapping twice, and then back to once and then none. The result is that you get waves.

Happy New Year! The 2010 count was 14 major projects and 24 scarves, plus a few hats. Not sure if I'd take the over or under for 2011...
