(Maybe I've been reading mysteries....)

Here is the center, all done!

Not too bad!

Here are some closer looks at the right side.

Now that I see it, I sort of wish I'd started to reverse the colors on the right, so it shaded in the other direction, but I don't think I'd have known without seeing this one first.

I wasn't sure what to do as a border, but I think it needs something simpler than what I had been envisioning, which was uneven triangles or little squares.

I am now thinking of a simple border, but in two directions. Ah, misdirection! Another hallmark of mysteries.....
